Jumping into the water while sitting on the edge of the pool is a great way to build confidence and become more familiar with being in the water. To do it, sit on the edge of the pool with your feet dangling in the water and slide forward until your but is hanging over the edge. Take a deep breath and, as you exhale, push yourself off the edge and drop into the water, keeping your body straight and arms close to your body. Tuck your chin to your chest, close your mouth and breath out through your nose to avoid getting water. Use your legs and arms to push yourself back up to the surface and swim to the side of the pool.

Throughout this time, I traveled the world, competing in various international swimming competitions and earning an impressive collection of over 250 medals.
