To connect underwater kicks with a stroke, start by pushing off the wall with your hands straight up and legs close together. Use flatter or dolphin kicks until you reach the surface, then start swimming with your chosen stroke. Remember to exhale through your nose if you try backstroke. Practicing this exercise can help improve your underwater kicks and swimming technique.
